Terms of Service

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of the AStar Summer Innovation Series program and website operated by A-Star Learning Inc. ("AStar", "we", "us"). By completing registration, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

2. Program Eligibility

The AStar Summer Innovation Series is open to students in Grades 4–10. By registering, you confirm that:

• You are the parent or legal guardian of the student being enrolled
• The student meets the grade eligibility requirements
• The student has access to a suitable device and stable internet connection
• You have provided accurate and complete registration information

3. Program Delivery

The program is delivered virtually via live online sessions. Sessions run approximately 2.5 hours per day during the program week. AStar reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to session scheduling, content, and delivery format. We will notify registered families of any significant changes in advance.

4. Fees and Payment

Program fees are as listed on our registration page at the time of enrollment. All fees are in Canadian dollars. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Early bird pricing is available until the stated deadline and is not retroactively applied.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand plans change. Our refund policy is as follows:

• More than 21 days before your track starts: Full refund
• Within 21 days of your track start date: No refund, but your registration is transferable to another student
• After the program begins: No refunds or transfers

6. Siblings Discount

A 10% siblings discount applies to the second child enrolled from the same family. The discount is applied to the lower-priced registration. This discount cannot be combined with other offers.

7. Code of Conduct

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. All students are expected to:

• Treat instructors and fellow students with respect
• Attend sessions prepared and ready to participate
• Refrain from disruptive, offensive, or harmful behaviour
• Not record, share, or distribute session content without permission

AStar reserves the right to remove a student from the program without refund if these standards are not met.

8. Intellectual Property

Students retain ownership of the original work they create during the program. By enrolling, you grant AStar permission to showcase student work (anonymised where appropriate) for educational and promotional purposes, unless you opt out in writing.

All program materials, curriculum, and content created by AStar remain the intellectual property of A-Star Learning Inc.

9. Exhibition Fair

Participation in the in-person Exhibition Fair in Calgary, Alberta on August 8 is included in the program. Travel, accommodation, and other personal expenses are the responsibility of the family. AStar is not liable for costs incurred in connection with attending the fair.

10. Photography and Media

AStar may photograph or record portions of the program and Exhibition Fair for promotional purposes. By registering, you consent to this unless you notify us in writing at [email protected] before the program begins.

11. Limitation of Liability

AStar's liability is limited to the amount paid for the program. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the program or use of our website.

12. Changes to the Program

AStar reserves the right to modify program content, schedules, and delivery methods. In the event of significant changes, registered families will be notified by email with reasonable notice.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Calgary, Alberta.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
